Microchipping
Around 900 pets go missing in the UK every day. With or without a collar it can be difficult to track down the owners.
Microchipping is a quick and simple procedure that will ensure we can always track your pet back to you. One of our vets or nurses will inject a small microchip (about the size of a grain of rice) under your pet's skin. This little chip will contain all of your contact details and all of your pet's details. Rescue centres, police, dog wardens and vets all have scanners that can quickly read your pet's chip and then relocate them after a quick phonecall to the national database.
Once implanted, Microchips are there for life. Only in rare and exceptional circumstances has chip failure occurred and should your personal details change these can easily be updated by contacting the central database.
Microchips are only £12.
Legally, all dogs must wear a collar and ID tag when out in public, which must detail their owner's name and address, including postcode. This applies whether your dog is on their lead or not.
